"Digi Charat" began as an advertisement for Gamers, a gaming store chain found throughout Japan. The original series was sixteen episodes long, with each episode running for three minutes. The series follows the story of Di Gi Charat (Dejiko), her sidekick Petit Charat (Puchiko) and Gema, who arrive in Akihabara, Tokyo. Dejiko dreams of becoming an idol, but has no money or a place to stay until the manager of a Gamers store takes pity on them. The series follows their zany exploits as Dejiko, friends, and rival Rabi-en-Rose work in the store. (Wikipedia)
